Shopping in Beijing

One of the best place for shopping in the world is Beijing. Known for its good reputation you can find in here anything from clothes to antiques and handicrafts. As souvenirs you can choose between art materials, chops, small jade items or kites. The places where all of those could be found are located in the four main shopping districts: Wangfujing (popular, mainstream), Xidan (bigest department stores), Dongdan (brand-name clothes) and Qianmen which is considered the area that most rewards idle browsing. The souvenirs are found at the Liulichang. If you want to fell more familiar you should also try the new giant malls (Sun Dong'an Plaza, Sea-Sky Plaza, CVIK, COFCO, World Trade Centre Plaza) where the prices are the same like in the West. All the shops are open daily (8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. or 7 p.m. in winter) with one exception concerning the big shopping centres which are open daily till 9 p.m.
