Worth a visit is Guangzhou Zoo, especially if you are with your kids. It's located about 1km farther out along Xianlie Lu, take bus #6 from Dongfeng Lu (one block east of Sun Yatsen Memorial Hall). this zoo is the third biggest in China. It is known for its rarities of leopards, pandas ad other species of wildfowl.
The entry fee is 20 yean and I think it is opened daily.
