There is more than one decent hotel in Kowloon. For example the Peninsula Hotel is quite decent and has a pretty nice view of the rest of the island considering it's over 20 stories high. The rooms are a bit expensive but I assume a business trip comes with a healthy budget, so you can easily enjoy a nice afternoon tea in the hotel's foyer.
