Huxin Ting Teahouse, Shanghai

Posted 1 year ago by skip in response to rocker's question: I hear something about drinking some tea after visting the beautiful Yu Yuan garden? What can you tell me about that? (give a different answer) .

There's a beautiful place inside this marvelous garden. It's called Huxin Ting, Heart of Lake Pavilion. Opened daily, downstairs from 5:30 a.m. till noon and upstairs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. In here you can taste the a good flavour of chinese original tea. Practically there's no visitor who's ever been in Shanghai and never been in this place. For about 10Y in the downstairs section you can enjoy the endless tea refills while watching the elderly locals, playing cards or amiding the wood panelling, or the performance of a venerable Chinese orchestra. Upstairs the day charge is begining from 25Y where you can get quails' eggs with your tea and in the evening for about 65Y the waitresses perform traditional tea ceremonies.
