In this case you should not miss the Shanghai Zoo. It is on Hongqiao Lu, the road that leads to the airport - the Zoo is close to airport. The bus #57 from the western end of Nanjing Lu will bring you out here. The entrance fee is 20Y for adults and half price for kids.
Don't miss the giant pandas ;)
