I don't know about churches but I can tell you that Shanghai has quite a remarcable Catholic Cathedral. Located to the southwest of the city Xujiahui cathedral is a place of great congregation and relief. It also has a library with about 200.000 volumes. It was built in 1846 on the grave of Paul Xu Guangqi. The first service on weekdays starts at 6.30 am and Sundays ay 8 am. Godspeed!
