SOS. I'm in Shanghai for some several weeks now. Just came and have a lot of problems with orientation because of few English informative marks. Don't they have a kind of information center around here?(give a different answer) .

For a bland tourist information in a good English call the tourist hotline +21 62520000, it is opened daily from 8am till 10pm. Also you can find different kinds of brochures, maps and advice at a touristic kiosk at the north entrance of the Renmin Square metro station.
Believe me that in one week Shanghai will become your home :)
