By far the best hotel here in Tianjin is the Astor luxury hotel centrally located in a stylish british masion that is over 100 years old. It's on Tai'er Zhang Lu and a room will cost over 800Y per night so get ready to go high. You can make rezervations ahead at 022/23311688. The hotel has a flurish of museum like displays, warlord portraits and ancient chinese made light bulbs that were first used in the hotel :).
