You can go all over if you want nature in Xianmen but I think the best place for you is the Wanshi Botanical Gardens. To get here you can take a 2 hour walk if you're the sporty type or you can catch bus # 17 from the street outside Nanputuo's entrance. The gardens are open daily from 6.30 am to 6.30 pm and the entrace fee is 20Y. They have over 4000 varieties of plants and they were visited by president Nixon a while back.
